Habits are Important

Thought for your day. Habits and rituals are the basis building blocks of success. Give me an average man who can consistently perform at a particular level–for I know that I can count on him–rather than a brilliant man who only performs in patches. Big success requires faithfulness in doing the little things every day. What are your habits? Do they bring you success?

(PS: If you feel you can improve in this area, I provide personal and business coaching to help you build the habits and rituals of success!)

Teamwork is Key!

Yesterday, I presented a business strategy to my board of directors. I was sure I had thought things out impeccably and had covered all the bases. However, one person saw a solution that would solve a particular problem within six months, whereas the solution I had for it would take twice that amount of time.

No one person has all the answers. Each one of us is smart, intelligent, intuitive, and blessed with an amazing super computer within our head. However, that doesn’t mean that we see the entire picture all the time. There are many variables that we may see or understand that can have mammoth affect on our plans. Each person processes information differently and each person sees things that others may or may not see, because of their various paradigms. So when it comes down to making decisions, never fail to get the help of others. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Change Your Routines

Thought for your day. Routines are good, but if they are not regularly re-evaluated, they could end up becoming more harmful than helpful. In order to experience success in any area of your life, one must put rituals into place in order to work towards it. However, if the focus ever slips off from the principle that you are following to merely fulfilling those rituals on a daily basis, you are in jeopardy of losing the success that you had. As one of my favourite quotes goes, “The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results!” Have a great Tuesday!

Focus on the Best

Life is busy for everyone–even more so for those of us who are entrepreneurs and business owners/leaders. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in the myriad of things to do on a daily basis that we lose sight of the bigger picture and the bigger goal. While most things on our “to-do” list are good things, if they are not the “best” things (ie: planning for the future and creating strategies for your success and making the decisions that only you as a leader can make), then it may be time to let them go or delegate them to others so that you can focus on the best that only you can do! Have a wonderful week ahead!

Only Time for the Best (Mine)

Learn from Failure

No one likes times of failure. It hurts to make a mistake that leads to loss or a setback in any way. Like a runner who trips during a marathon, it can hurt when we fall. However, hidden in failure are some of life’s greatest lessons–lessons that can transform our lives and help us to not only avoid failure the next time, but turn it into success as well. Don’t ever move on from there without learning something in the process. Have a wonderful Friday!

Take Time to Think

Thought for your Day: Be sure to take time out from your work to focus your efforts! I learnt the value of this last night when I was an hour early for a dinner appointment with no work on me to do. From that one hour sprang a business plan and direction for my next three months. Time outs are essential for leaders! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Love Vs Hate

Tragedies, wars, hate crimes, bullying, terrorism, malice–these horrible things are widely prevalent in our world today. The scourge of hate is destroying this planet. Regardless of race, color, religion, creed, gender, sexual preference, political affiliation, or whatever else–each person is a human life with a unique soul, unique thoughts, unique feelings, and a unique destiny and that makes them infinitely valuable! Human life is sacred and whether or not we agree with each other or see eye to eye, we MUST love one another! Along Martin Luther King Jr, I too have chosen love. Hate is too big a burden to bear.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only LOVE can do that. And so I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
